My name is Klarrisa and travel is my love language.
First of all, what's a love language?
There are technically 5 according to the book, "The 5 Love Languages," by Gary Chapman. The love languages are quality time, physical touch, receiving gifts, words of affirmation, and acts of service. The basic premise is that we all like to receive and give love in ways that speak to us more than others. You can read more on their website: The 5 Love Languages.
Why is travel your love language?
I love trying new foods, experiencing cultures, cheers-ing with new friends, and exploring new towns. I hate just passing through places and not getting a chance to hear about its history or learn what makes it unique. When I am able to do this, I experience a love for and from the world in a totally different way.
Besides being extremely cheesy, what else can you tell us?
Some of my other interests include:
Food. All of it. I love to eat first and foremost, but also love to cook, watch people cook, learn about food from other communities and why it's important to them. And restaurants. Even though I'm traveling on a budget, I will still always try to eat out every so often. Restaurant culture can say so much about a city.
Drinks. Not just for the tipsy feeling but also for the unique tastes and smells a glass of wine, beer, or whiskey can give you.
Stories. Whether shared through books, films, art, or others. I love hearing/seeing a good story. Sometimes even creating one.
Bodies of water. I love beaches, lakes, rivers, streams. I'm not necessarily a huge water sport person, but the calming nature of sitting and being near water is enough for me. Although I'll never turn down a boat ride. :)
People. I love hospitable, funny, driven, silly, passionate people. I enjoy hearing other people's stories and sharing food or drinks with new and old friends.
